Frequently Asked Questions
1. Touch the Sea dives are mostly for experienced divers, right? Wrong. Just about everyone is new at interacting with marine animals, no matter how much diving they've done. Divers of all experience and skill levels have fun and learn a lot on Touch the Sea dives.

2. Touch the Sea dives are mostly for new divers, right? Wrong. Just about everyone is new at interacting with marine animals, no matter how much diving they've done. Divers of all experience and skill levels have fun and learn a lot on Touch the Sea dives.

3. Does Dee Scarr personally guide each dive? Yes.

4. Are Touch the Sea dives done from a boat? No, they're shore dives, from calm locations.

5. How do we contact Dee when we're on Bonaire?
• phone 717-8529
• visit Captain Don's Habitat on Mondays at 8:45 PM for Dee's slide show

6. What's the depth range of Touch the Sea diving? Touch the Sea dives are usually between 20 and 45' of depth.

7. Does a diver have to be certified to Touch the Sea? No, but uncertified divers must be accompanied by an instructor.

8. Can snorkelers participate in Touch the Sea dives? Snorkelers are welcome to accompany their friends on Touch the Sea dives, snorkel above us, and watch what we do -- free of charge. It's tough to participate in Touch the Sea while snorkeling since one can't stay down long enough, or motionlessly enough, for an interaction.

9. Should I bring a camera on my Touch the Sea dive? Having a camera tends to split a person's mind into a touching part and a photography part; if you're okay with that, bringing a camera is fine. I recommend normal or wide-angle lenses to capture the interactions.

10. Who else will be on my Touch the Sea dive? Your buddies will be the one to three other divers you booked with, and Dee. If just you and your spouse booked the dive, for example, it will be just you two and Dee.

11. Can I work for Touch the Sea? Touch the Sea is an owner-operated business; Dee personally guides every Touch the Sea dive. Consequently there is no diving employment available. Touch the Sea has one position, surface support, which is open only to Bonairean high school students. That position is currently already filled.
